Project H.O.P.E Program, RoundUp

Together, we can make a difference!

Help Us Help Those in Need Through The Project H.O.P.E. Program

We here at Albany Utilities are aware many of our customers find it difficult to pay their monthly utility bill.  Albany Utilities has the Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Pay for Energy) Program in place to help our neighbors during hardship pay their utility bill.

This program allows neighbors to help neighbors by turning pennies into dollars. Your monthly or “at will” donation of as little as a dollar can help a needy family pay their utility bill.

THE PLAN:  Funds for The Project H.O.P.E. Program will be collected through the donations and contributions received from you, our valued Albany Utility customers and any citizen, business, church and non-profit agency, who wishes to donate to the project.  The Project H.O.P.E. Program funds will be used strictly to help Albany Utility customers who are facing a hardship and need help paying their Albany Utility bill. These funds will be administered by the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council.

If you wish to donate to The Project H.O.P.E Program, please fill out, sign an application and send to Customer Service or apply online below advising how you wish to donate your funds or fill in and submit the below request. You may choose to donate according to the following plans:

  1.  A specific amount: you may sign up to add a specific amount to your utility bill on a monthly basis, (e.g. $1.00, $2.00, $5.00).
  2.  Roundup: Your monthly utility bill will be automatically rounded up to the next dollar. The “round up” amount will appear on your monthly utility bill.
  3.  Overage: You may pay an extra amount exceeding the amount of your actual utility bill. You may send in a separate check or a note with your utility payment, advising the Tellers of the desire to donate the overage to The Project H.O.P.E. Program.  These donations may be given at will, and do not require an application to participate.
  4.  Direct Donation:  You may come into our office to make a direct donation to The Project H.O.P.E. Program.  A  Teller will receive your payment and post it directly to The H.O.P.E. Project account.  You will receive a receipt showing this donation.

Plans 1 & 2 donations will be presented as a line item on your utility bill. Any unpaid balances will be added to the next month’s bill. This is a voluntary program and can be opt out at any time by contacting Customer Service 229-883-8330 ext 4502.

Plans 3 & 4 are “at will” donations and will not show up as a line item on your utility bill.

For more information, you may contact us at 229-883-8330 ext. 4502.  Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

If at any time you would like to stop the specific amount and roundup charge on your monthly bill, you must contact our office to be removed from the program.
