The Water, Gas & Light Commission is a municipally-owned and operated utility system furnishing water, gas, and electricity to our broad–based customers. The City of Albany, Georgia Water Works was established in 1892, followed by the Albany Electric Plant, founded in 1900. The Water, Gas and Light Commission was established by City Charter in 1912
